Our facilities are the result of knowledge and innovation over five decades. They exist for the benefit of all our clients and the horses in our care and are open to our local and wider equestrian community. Browse and find out more information on the fantastic facilities we have to offer.

Mount Mascal Stables is our combined riding school and livery yard.

A lively and thriving facility equipped to offer a wide range of services for today’s equestrian customer.  Mount Mascal Stables is situated on a 70 acre site comprising of: 70 stables and 8 stalls, as well as 6 tie-up stalls; 60m x 20m Indoor School with viewing gallery and integral Judge’s Box; 40m x 20m covered outdoor arena; large barn; forge; generous storage ‘lock up’s’ for DIY clients; horse exerciser; car and lorry/trailer parking space; reception area; clubroom and toilets. Mascal Stables on site security includes: Red Care Fire & intruder alarm;  electronic gates, CCTV and resident staff.

Little Mascal Farm is our livery only facility.

Adjacent to Mount Mascal Stables and linked by a private lane, Little Mascal Farm has road access is via Bunkers Hill off North Cray Road. The yard offers modern services in a smaller scale and quiet environment. The traditional and historic farm buildings, including granary and Georgian farmhouse, are set in a stunning location overlooking open fields and ancient woodland. A truly tranquil and peaceful atmosphere within sight of London.

Little Mascal Farm comprises: 43 stables; 40 acres of excellent grazing; 40m x 20m soft track outdoor arena with seated viewing from the south facing club house which has tea and coffee making facilities; Dutch barn; car park and toilets. Additionally, Little Mascal Farm clients are welcome to use the services offered at Mount Mascal Stables.

On site security includes electronic gates, CCTV and resident staff.

Quality indoor and outdoor spaces for broad range of events / uses.

Our arenas are equestrian sand and rubber super track surfaced with flood lighting for effective, safe schooling. All are available for private hire together with equipment such as dressage markers and show jumps.

Indoor Arena

The largest arena facility at the yard was graciously opened by HRH The Princess Royal in 1989. A 60 x 20 metres surface area. Low bay day light halides. Dressage letter markers. Two doors allow access to the outdoor covered arena and yard stabling. Viewing gallery offers full seated spectating. Clients enjoying the Clubroom facilities or in the Reception area can view through reinforced glass windows. Used for daily riding school and livery activities - flat and jump - as well as competitions, clinics and events.

Outdoor Covered Arena

Standard size 20m x 40m with state of the art roofing installed in 2011 for all year round outdoor schooling. Netted post and rail fencing. Two gates allow access to the indoor covered arena and front of yard area. Dressage letter markers. Low bay day light halides. Used for daily riding school and livery activities, as well as a competition warm up facility.

Outdoor Uncovered Arena

A stunning location adjacent to fields at Little Mascal Farm with spectacular views across open countryside and woodland. Standard size 20m x 40m space in a truly open location. Dressage letter markers. Post and rail fencing. Single gate to yard. Undercover seated spectating is available from the Little Mascal Farm Club House. Floodlighting.

Grass Arenas

Post and rail fenced paddocks are seasonally available for practice on grass. All our facilities are exchangeable.

A full range of equine accommodation to suit all requirements.

All equine accommodation is well appointed and maintained. Industry proven standard procedures are in place to ensure the welfare and well-being of all the horses in our care. We are happy to assist with regard to choices for bedding, flooring, watering, feeding, fixtures, storage etc.

From pole work to Puissance!

Our super popular Winter Showjumping Series, now entering its third decade of success, proves our expertise in this sector of our sport. Improve your skills and benefit from our innovative new jump designs to take you and your horse step-by-step from nursery fences through to bigger obstacles. Additional opportunities to compete and learn include shows, clinics and demonstrations.

Opportunities for practice include private and group lessons, competitions and shows, demonstrations and clinics. Our Showjumps are also available for private hire.

40 acres, 36 jumps!

Our cross country course includes portable and fixed obstacles. Newly updated in 2014 to enhance interest and provide challenge. Solid telegraph poles, ditches, trailers, skinnies, steps, tyres and a log complex are some of the highlights. Opportunities for practice include private and group lessons, competitions and shows, demonstrations and clinics. The course is also available for private hire.

Ancient woodland, bridle tracks, lanes and wide open spaces.

As traffic continues to grow it can be difficult to find off road hacking.  We at Mount Mascal are very fortunate to have Joydens Wood on our doorstep. This 300 acre Medieval wood owned by the Woodland Trust allows safe and secure riding through beautiful countryside with a wealth of flora and fauna, you will often see fox, rabbit and badger going about their daily lives. All of our trained Escorts and Instructor can point out some of the highlights in the Wood.(photos) From Joydens Wood you have direct access into the London Borough of Bexley`s Chalk Wood another lovely wood with excellent rides,(photos) then onto the bridle path across Birchwood Golf Course.(photos) Plenty of good off road hacking with the towers of Canary Wharf in the background.

A total of 70 acres comprised of nine fields.

The whole site is maintained using up-to-date land and grass management techniques. Facilities incorporate field kept & turnout only space, ‘holiday’ and small paddocks to suit all requirements. Post & rail and electric fencing; self-filling water troughs; natural shelter provided by hedgerows, trees, adjacent woodland and lie of the land/topography; gate access from either yard location.

Welcoming and family friendly facilities for everyone to enjoy.

The Mount Mascal Stables Clubroom facilities are for all our visitors to socialise in a family friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

Since recent refurbishment, the Clubroom at Mount Mascal Stables now comprises two lovely rooms with viewing of the Main Indoor Arena. With table & chair seating, both are warm and cosy retreats from our sometimes wet and windy British weather! The Clubroom offers hot and cold menu options and is fully licensed. The main bar area is particularly popular during shows & competitions. The Function Room can be open to the bar area or closed for private events – Pony Birthday Parties, lectures, seminars & meetings, charity fundraisers and more. The Clubroom facilities are available to hire – price on application to the office, t 020 8 300 3947 or call in person to discuss your requirements. Evening Clubroom staff will be happy to assist you with regard to evening bookings and can take messages in respect of daytime requirements.

At Little Mascal Farm, clients can socialise and enjoy view towards fields and woodland from the chalet style Club Room adjacent to the outdoor arena. Tea & coffee making facilities and portable seating for indoors or out on the porch.

Welcoming and family friendly facilities for everyone to enjoy.

Welcome to Administrative HQ! Our Reception and Office team are qualified and knowledgeable to assist with bookings, livery requirements, general enquiries and advice with regard to all our services. Shop stocks are streamlined to meet day-to-day requirements for horse and rider and Pony Club member. We are also able to order a wide range of individual items – such as bits - on request and these are generally delivered within a few days.

Feed Supplies

Our feed supply operation began in 1993 to supply in-house and to the general public. Alongside own brand top quality mix and nuts, produced in Kent, which we use for our own horses and ponies, we can offer a choice of other well-known labels. Our excellent hay and straw are sourced from local producers wherever possible and we have a full range of alternative bedding supplies.
