May Half Term 2015

May. 25 - 29, 2015, 09:30 — 05:30

The May Half Term Schedule for Pony Club Members is out today!

Here is a quick rundown of the excitement in store for you. There is something for Members at every level – if you are right at the start, very beginner, never ever done any Pony Club sessions before and those of you working towards C Test standard and above.

 OUT & ABOUT

For you to make the most of the warmer May weather, there are three activities specially devoted to the happiness that is hacking. Try the Springtime Start to Hack & Snacktivity and the Perfect Picnic Pony Ride if you are complete beginners upwards. The Intermediate Hack & Snacktivity is suitable if you are confident in Walk & Trot and will not require a lead rein. All three hacks involve you enjoying yummy snacks/meal & drinks with your Pony Club pals and you will eat al fresco - weather permitting. Otherwise, cosy and dry in the Clubroom. A special Stable Management Day also includes a gentle afternoon hack for the first time ever – what a great combo.

The Camping Badge & Picnic Snack activity is time for you to learn all about how to be self-sufficient outdoors and you will get to learn about using a camping stove safely to make a brew!

CARE, KNOWLEDGE & HANDLING – BADGE & BATH BONANZAS

If you are true to Pony Club ideals, you will be keen to make sure your Care, Knowledge and Handling skills are at one with your riding ability. This May Half Term is your chance to do this with a wide array of subjects at all levels. Mini Badge Day offers you FOUR badges to choose from: Points of Tack, Points of Pony, Feed Your Pony and Pony Behaviour. Your Main Badge options are Equipment Safety, Fitness, Loading, Lungeing, Security Awareness & Tack Cleaning. The Smashing & Splashing Brush & Bath is not only a chance for you to gain skills and have fun – you will also be able to show your Pony Club ponies how much you appreciate them. They always LOVE the fuss they get in this spring spruce your pony up session.

ABOVE GROUND LEVEL - JUMP FOR JOY

Four jumping sessions in one week. Amazing! Beginner Jump if you are getting started, Beginner Plus if you are at the next stage, Beginner X Country in the field if the ground permits – fingers crossed - or simulated exercises in the covered arena, Clear Round if you are ready to tackle a course of show jumping fences.

 TESTS & STANDARDS

It’s Test Time for E standard riders! A brilliant for beginners session. Sign up for a really fun success guaranteed morning and get your first Pony Club Certificate. You will hardly notice you are being tested as this standard is very informal and a great way to give you the confidence to move on through your Bronze levels towards D Test.

If you hold your D+ certificate, then try the Develop Your D+ session to really consolidate and work on the more demanding skills at and above this level.

 THE ONESIE GAMES

Gymkhana games are even more fun if you get to dress up. The theme for this week’s session is ‘Onesie Funsie’ and you can join in if you are lead rein level upwards.

Check out the full details on the schedule which is attached for you and speak to your Instructor or the office for advice if you need it. Help is always on hand but it is important to choose the activities that will suit you best. This will help you to gain confidence and have the maximum fun!

Numbers are limited and sessions are popular. Please book early to avoid disappointment and make payment to secure your place.

We will also be running our Pony Day's 9.45am - 3.45pm everyday of the May Half Term at £35 per child.

Get ready for a Marvellous May Half Term.

 See you all soon.
