February 2015 Half Term Activities
Feb. 16 - 20, 2015, 09:30 — 05:30
With the festivities well & truly over and January in full swing, we hope you are all settled in nicely to 2015.
Looking ahead, it is only a few weeks until February Half Term and your Pony Club Centre Team have already planned a great week full of activities for everyone to choose from.
With Spring hopefully soon with us, hacking is high on the agenda. But, of course, the British weather can be very unpredictable. Rest assured in our insert number years as a Pony Club Centre we have only ONCE had to completely cancel a hack. And on that occasion, we had great fun in the arena practising hacking skills and knowledge. So no-one went away disappointed.
We also have two gymkhana options with a special dress code, vaulting, bareback, side saddle and a pamper session for you to ‘heart’ your pony in true Valentine spirit.
As far as stable management and knowledge go … we have introduced some new initiatives to solve a consistent problem identified by our Pony Club Examiners. Feedback is clear that your riding ability is often ahead of other areas of your horsemanship. This is not a good situation. Check out the Round Robin and Pony Club Show mornings where you will see how important this issue is, as well as the Gold Level to C Test afternoon. These activities are highly recommended if you want to become an all-round equestrian expert. And, skill and knowledge off the saddle ALWAYS improves your capability in the saddle. This is a truth that has been observed by many experienced horsemen and women throughout history.
There are lots of chances to get main and mini badges with On The Yard & Safety, The Message of Dressage, Double Mini Times, Handling & Grooming, Working Dogs and the brand new first session ever Mini Carriage Driving.
There are no formal tests this half term but we do have the very achievable and friendly format E Test session on offer for younger and beginner Clubbers.
Remember, if you book for a morning & afternoon activity, lunch and drinks are included in the price. And Breakfast and Tea Time Clubs @ £7.50 per session are available to help parents with commitments that might mean you miss out.
Don’t forget that this time of year is very chilly. You must dress with plenty of warm layers, gloves and a coat whether your session is on the yard, riding or mostly indoors.
Also, check on the schedule whether you need to collect a hand out or work pack to help you succeed on the day. Bring all your work with you to your session.
All you need to do now is check out the full details, speak to your Instructor/the office for advice if you are in doubt and book up by calling 0208 300 3947 or visiting the office. Bookings are payable in advance, cancellation policy 24 hours.
