TURNING OUT & BRINGING IN

With effect from today, no child under 12 years should either turn out/bring in a pony/horse from any field on site unaccompanied by a Parent/nominated adult. This person should be at the child’s side in the field, not at the gate/fence. It is the responsibility of the parent/nominated adult to assess the field and decide before entering whether the child should be with them.

Conditions which might effect this decision include, but are not limited to, deep muddy ground, excited herd behaviour, nervousness in the child. If in doubt, we would always advise to err on the side of caution and go without the child. In the event that neither a Parent/nominated adult is able, they should arrange with the office for the task to be undertaken by a member of staff. The price for this service will be £2 each way. If you would like any training to help you bring in/turn out we are happy to assist. Please enquire at the office.

It is the responsibility of Parents/Guardians to ensure that these procedures are followed at all times, year round.

We would also like to remind all clients that anyone turning out/bringing in should always be correctly attired in riding/yard gear, wearing hard hat with chinstrap fastened, gloves and boots. In the case of minors, it is the responsibility of Parents/Guardians to ensure correct attire. Hats can be borrowed by arrangement with the office.

As with all our rules and procedures, if you have a loaner it is your responsibility to ensure that they are fully aware.

Mount Mascal Stables cannot accept responsibility for the consequences of failure to comply with any of our rules or procedures. Whilst we try to keep them to a minimum, those that are in place are for the safety, well-being and benefit of everyone on site, human and equine. Your livery contract implies your acceptance and knowledge of our rules and procedures. Persistent disregard may result in your livery contract being terminated with immediate effect.

Thank you for your attention and cooperation.
