Mount Mascal Stables Unaffiliated Summer Dressage Series Our Summer Sunday Dressage Series started on 19 May – a fine day despite early foreboding cloud. Remembering serious difficulties posed by wet weather last year, Mount Mascal Stables relished the forecast for the 2013 May Day Bank Holiday weekend – fine and dry for Bexley. And it did, indeed, turn out to be glorious with clear blue sunny skies from dawn to dusk drawing a fantastic turnout of competitors and spectators. Fifteen classes ran in three rings with something on offer for every rider, as well as refreshments – including ice cream, which sold especially well – and Tony’s Tack for shopping opportunities.
* *During the Easter holidays, fifteen of our young riders with their own ponies and horses enjoyed a cross country day out at Lodge Farm, Matfield, Kent. Mount Mascal Stables Instructors, Fiona Jones and Adam Heitman, as well as Alison Window, Proprietor were all on hand - with their many years combined expert knowledge and experience - to guide and encourage. And, with parents coming along to support and spectate, excitement and some apprehension among newcomers was in the air.
2012 was a challenging year for many businesses and people. The economic outlook remained uncertain and the weather presented its challenges. So, the recent announcement from the Met Office that 2012 has been the wettest year on record come as no surprise.
